CAP debt logoWe set up our CAP Debt Centre in November 2020 and since then have been sharing the practical help and advice needed for clients go debt free, along with sharing the good news of Jesus. We do this as a team, using our different gifts and skills and working together across the different churches within SCT.In November 2023 we welcomed a new centre manager, Mayme Small, to our team. You can hear her heart about the centre in the video above or keep reading for ways to be involved.

Here are 3 main ways you can get involved:

  • Pray – the most essential work! We’ll be gathering a group to pray regularly for the centre, and to worship together as we see God move in people’s lives.
  • Volunteer – Befrienders team – many people with debt problems face painful social isolation and we want to invite them into community. Our Befrienders will accompany the centre manager when visiting clients, come alongside them as friends, and help them out with practical tasks. As we grow in friendship, there’ll be opportunities to share our faith. You’ll get training for all this and we’ll work flexibly with the time and skills you have.
  • Give – do consider if you can give financially to help keep the centre running, so we can reach those who most need our help for years to come.

The centre is based at Northcliffe Church, Hall Royd, Shipley, BD18 3ED
