Saltaire Canteen aims to intercept and use surplus food before it is disposed of by supermarkets, producers and shops. Every year, millions of tonnes of food are needlessly thrown away. Saltaire Canteen uses this perfectly good food to make nutritious and healthy meals for whoever needs them.
Food is offered on a ‘pay as you feel basis’. You pay what you think your meal is worth, or whatever you can afford.
Saltaire Canteen is open on Monday to Friday between 9:30am and 3:30pm, and on Saturday between 10:30am and 4:30pm.
