COME and HEAR Colonel Robbie Hall QGM
The former Bomb disposal hero, winner of the Queen’s Gallantry Medal
and speaker at the next Church on the Way Men’s Breakfast on SATURDAY MARCH 4TH 2017 (9.00am)
Robbie’s story covers his coming to faith and provides a snapshot of the crucial work undertaken by bomb disposal specialists. He once led a team to defuse an old German bomb discovered near a gasometer at East Beckford (London). It became the subject of one of Michael Buerk’s 999 Programmes and Colonel Hall and the two non-commissioned officers who worked with him were all sent to Buckingham Palace to receive their QGM’s
Involved in various aspects of Bomb Disposal, both on land and sea for most of his 37 years’ service, Robbie’s final task was to command the training organisation for all 3 Services Bomb Disposal specialists, charged with finding and training sufficient high-threat operators to cope with the daunting IED threat in Afghanistan. Life outside the Army led him to pursue his calling to ordained ministry having links with Monmouth Baptist Church.
